The Mount Ovit Tunnel, Turkey

Opened in 2018, the Ovit Tunnel in the eastern Black Sea area of Turkey has, for the first time in history, allowed year-round road transport between the ancient regions of Erzurum and Rize. Mitsubishi Electric allows operators to manage every aspect of the tunnel’s operations.(BRI) – the modern incarnation of the historic Silk Road connecting China and Eurasia – and so is of great long-term economic significance to Turkey.

Eti Bakır Mazıdağı, Turkey

Covering 1.58 million square meters and incorporating five factories and 12 auxiliary units, the Eti Bakır Mazıdağı fertiliser and metal recovery plant in Mardin, Turkey is a colossal installation. At its heart, Mitsubishi Electric video wall keeps a watchful eye over operations.

Transnet Pipelines’ National Operations Centre, Durban, South Africa

Transnet Pipelines (TPL) is the custodian of South Africa’s strategic pipeline assets, handling the transit of 16 billion litres of liquid fuel and more than 450 million cubic metres of gases annually. The liquid products include crude oil as well as diesel, leaded and unleaded petrol and aviation turbine fuels.

There are few more demanding environments than ships at sea. Modernising the control systems of a working fishing vessel plying the high seas of the mid-Atlantic was an unusual technical and logistical challenge for Mitsubishi Electric and its technology partners.

KLM Operations Control Centre (OCC), The Netherlands

KLM’s Operations Control Centre (OCC), located at Schiphol-Oost in The Netherlands, manages virtually every aspect of the airline’s daily operations. As well as monitoring all flights to KLM’s 145 destinations worldwide, the OCC plays a crucial role in planning, engineering, maintenance and customer care.

Moscow’s Metro system consists of 206 stations and 340km of track, making it the fifth largest metro system in the world, carrying over 9 million passengers daily. Overseeing their safety are 17,000 cameras and a state-of–the-art control room equipped with Mitsubishi Electric displays.

The Atyrau region is located in the western part of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a transcontinental country at the meeting point of Europe and Asia, sharing borders with Russia and China amongst others. Atyrau is one of the economic powerhouses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 

LUKOIL – Western Siberia, Yamal-Nenets, Russia

Located 240km from the city of Novy Urengoy in Siberia, the Pyakyakhinskoye oil and gas condensate field, located in the Yamal-Nenets district, is Russia’s newest oil and gas producing region. Its reserves are estimated at 86 million tons of oil and gas condensate and 253 billion cubic meters of gas, making it a globally-significant source of hydrocarbon energy and one of great importance to the Russian economy

AVR, The Netherlands

AVR is a waste processing company based in the Netherlands. Originally founded by 23 municipalities in the Rotterdam area, since its privatisation in the 1990s AVR has grown to become the largest company of its kind in the country, with waste and power plants in Rozenburg and Duiven and trans-shipment stations in The Hague, Utrecht and Rotterdam.

The major functions of Lenenergo include management of the 110-0,4 kW network, as well as the connection of consumers to electric networks in the Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad regions.

Control Center of Flight Electrical and Lighting Service of Vnukovo Airport OJSC. To complete the set tasks, a multiuser information display system was proposed for the dispatcher control panel based on a video wall designed to form a high-resolution multiple image. 

RTL Headquarters, Luxembourg

RTL broadcasts a wide range of television shows from its corporate headquarters in the city of Luxembourg. RTL’s studio facility is in virtually continuous use, broadcasting daily news bulletins, sports, interviews, discussion programmes and weather forecasts.
Surprisingly, this impressive output is generated from a studio space measuring just 10m by 10m.
